In this book, prominent Danish art historians Thyge Christian Fønss-Lundberg and Lise Svanholm give the first complete presentation of this very significant part of Tuxen’s oeuvre. The book is richly illustrated with both well-known and unpublished paintings and sketches, with large-scale extracts inviting the reader to closely study the wealth of detail in the works.Laurits Tuxen: The Court Paintings is a must for all art lovers and fans of the European royal families. The book takes us one step closer to the great painter and his relations with the royals of Europe.
